NimblePlay revealed the Nimble One, a lightweight handheld console with a dedicated adaptive controller and integrated low-latency cloud streaming optimized for indie titles. The hardware pairs a custom SOC for local physics and input processing with a cloud layer for graphics and persistence.
The company closed a $45 million Series B round led by Meridian Capital, with participation from GameFoundry and a consortium of hardware-focused investors. NimblePlay plans to use funds for tooling to help indies port titles, subsidize developer middleware, and scale production for a fall launch.
Nimble One ships with a curated storefront and an SDK tuned for variable frame budgets, battery life constraints, and tactile haptics. NimblePlay says its early partners include several indie studios that will debut exclusives timed with the hardware launch.
