Nimbus Mobility introduces 'Helix' modular e-scooter and raises $22M Series A
Tech · 4 min read
Helix's modular frame allows fleet operators to replace the drivetrain, battery module, or control unit in the field, lowering repair times and total-cost-of-ownership. Built-in telematics provide predictive maintenance alerts and allow centralized firmware updates across geographically distributed vehicles.
Nimbus raised $22 million from UrbanTransit Partners to scale manufacturing, expand piloting with municipal partners, and enhance diagnostic tooling. The firm will also invest in supply chain resilience for battery modules and spare-part distribution.
Early pilots in three European cities show improved fleet uptime and simpler on-street repairs compared with legacy scooters. Nimbus plans to offer a fleet-management portal with route-optimization features and dynamic redeployment based on demand signals.
