Nimbus raises $45M to build a collaborative 3D asset marketplace for product designers

Nimbus is launching a new round of expansion after securing $45 million in Series B funding focused on making 3D product assets first-class for industrial and consumer designers. The platform combines a marketplace, version control for geometry and materials, and a cloud-based viewer for instant previews.
The raise, led by Panorama Ventures with participation from Obsidian Capital and strategic investors from several design firms, will be used to scale cloud rendering, add integrations with CAD and Modo pipelines, and hire engineering teams across the US and EU. Nimbus plans to offer enterprise-grade access controls and compliance for regulated industries.
Nimbus’ marketplace differentiates itself by offering iterative asset histories and component tagging compatible with major PLM (product lifecycle management) systems. Early enterprise customers in consumer electronics say this reduces duplication and speeds new product introductions by up to 30%.
The company also released a public SDK today enabling third-party plugins for physics-based previews and AR preview export, signaling a push for broader ecosystem adoption by design and manufacturing partners.
