Nimbus Systems Raises $33M to Launch 'Responsive Grid', a Design Systems Auto-Generator
Design · 4 min read
Responsive Grid ingests screenshots or live URIs and extracts color palettes, spacing scales, typography, and recurring components to create an initial design system draft. Nimbus Systems' Series A was led by Modernize Capital.
The tool pairs automated extraction with a human review workflow so teams can finalize tokens and component APIs. Outputs include code snippets for React, Vue, and web components and a living documentation site.
Nimbus positions Responsive Grid as a migration accelerator for companies with sprawling UI sprawl. Early customers used it to cut months from consolidation projects and reduce design-debt-driven inconsistencies.
Funding will be used to add support for native platforms, improve extraction accuracy for dynamic UIs, and enhance governance features to allow staged rollouts of new tokens across large teams.
