NimbusAI raises $75M Series B to scale multimodal design assistant

NimbusAI closed a $75 million Series B led by Frontier Capital with participation from Creative Ventures and existing backers. The startup says it will use the capital to expand its core multimodal model that accepts sketches, voice notes, and copy to generate editable UI components and brand assets.
The company debuted version 2.0 of its assistant alongside the funding, adding vector-native outputs (SVG/FIG formats), plugin integrations for Figma and Adobe Illustrator, and an audit trail that maps a generated asset back to prompts and source sketches. NimbusAI positions this as a productivity layer for agencies and in-house studios that want AI-assisted design without losing vector fidelity.
NimbusAI executives signaled a major push into enterprise controls—permitted data sources, model interpretability dashboards, and on-prem options for regulated clients. Designers we spoke to welcomed the improved export quality but flagged the need for more granular style tokens and team-based versioning.
