NimbusXR launches lightweight headset 'Nimbus Air' with $30M pre-seed backing

NimbusXR announced Nimbus Air, a lightweight XR headset designed for long-duration enterprise sessions such as remote maintenance and spatial meetings. The company also revealed a $30 million pre-seed round led by Atlas Ventures to commercialize hardware and deploy its cloud-based spatial services.
The Nimbus Air uses a 3:2 micro-OLED panel per eye with efficient lenses and a modular battery pack targeting 6–8 hours of active use. Sensor design emphasizes positional accuracy for gestures and whiteboard interactions rather than the highest possible pixel density.
NimbusXR is positioning the device to complement high-fidelity headsets rather than compete directly with them, focusing on fieldwork and meetings where comfort and uptime are prioritized. Enterprise pilots are scheduled to begin in Q4 2026.
