Notion adds 'Design Brain' AI to auto-generate style guides and component specs

Design Brain crawls linked design files and documentation, extracting color palettes, typography scales, spacing systems, and component behaviors. It outputs a living style guide page that updates as source files change, and it can export tokens to popular CSS-in-JS libraries and design tools.

Teams can prompt Design Brain to suggest naming conventions, merge duplicated tokens, and propose accessibility fixes. The assistant includes a diff view that shows suggested changes and their impact across pages, making reviews easier for cross-functional teams.

Notion highlighted enterprise-ready controls: approval workflows, role-based editing, and change logs that integrate with SSO and audit systems. The company also released a Notion API hook so CI systems can trigger style guide refreshes after merges.

Some early customers requested deeper integration with component repositories like Storybook; Notion said connectors will appear in a plugin marketplace planned for Q4.
