Notion adds Design Mode with LlamaX-powered components and token syncing
Design · 4 min read
Design Mode allows teams to generate component suggestions (buttons, cards, tables) directly in Notion and export tokenized libraries that sync with external design tools. LlamaX powers contextual suggestions based on the page content and project constraints, making it easier to prototype UI patterns alongside product specs.
The token syncing feature keeps documentation and design libraries aligned: when a token changes in the design tool, a linked Notion page updates with the rationale and a changelog entry. This improves cross-team transparency and reduces the chance that documentation drifts from the implemented UI.
Teams using Notion for decision tracking found Design Mode helpful to keep visual context close to product decisions. Notion cautioned that generated assets are a starting point; teams should refine components before using them in production.
