Notion AI for Design adds component extraction and design notes generation

Notion’s design AI can now analyze uploaded mockups, extract recurring visual elements as named components, and create a living design inventory inside a Notion page. It also produces design decision logs that summarize trade-offs, accessibility considerations, and suggested next steps.

Teams can link extracted components to related documents, tickets and meeting notes, centralizing context. Notion added a review workflow that captures approver names and timestamps so the decision log becomes auditable over a product’s lifecycle.

The feature reduces time-consuming manual documentation and helps teams keep product artifacts synchronized. Notion urged teams to verify extracted components since the tool is designed to accelerate, not replace, human curation.
