Notion and Figma partner on bi-directional 'Design Notes' for contextual handoffs

Design Notes creates a live link between a Notion page and a Figma frame or component. When a designer writes intent, constraints, or localization notes in Notion, those notes appear as Context Layers in Figma; conversely, Figma comments can be surfaced into a Notion task checklist for engineers and PMs.
The integration supports metadata syncing (status, priority, owner) and preserves comment threads. This reduces the friction inherent in copying and pasting design rationale across tools and helps maintain a single source of truth for decisions that affect product development.
Teams using early access reported fewer lost threads during handoff and faster onboarding for new contributors who need both visual context and design strategy in one place. The partners plan further extensions around automated decision logs and AI-assisted summarization of comment threads.
