Notion integrates contextual LLMs to generate meeting-to-design handoffs
Tech · 3 min read
The new Notion feature parses meeting transcripts, Slack threads, and linked design files to produce structured handoffs for designers. Outputs include prioritized task lists, suggested component updates, and exportable briefs that can be pushed directly into Jira, Linear, or Trello. The LLM is trained to capture nuance — distinguishing exploratory discussion from concrete commitments.
Notion also introduced a “design-specific” prompt mode that generates wireframe sketches as ASCII or SVG mockups as part of the handoff, giving designers a starting point for iteration. The system links generated items back to the original transcript excerpts so context stays traceable and teams can review the reasoning behind each recommendation.
Privacy and consent were front and center, with Notion enabling workspace-level toggles for automatic summarization and explicit attribution labels. Teams reported faster alignment between PMs and designers, though some noted the need for routine audits to ensure the LLM didn’t over-prioritize low-impact items.
