Notion Introduces Design AI Blocks for Product Spec Drafting and Component Libraries
Tech · 3 min read
Notion launched Design AI blocks that help product and design teams generate structured specs, component documentation, and token catalogs directly in pages. By attaching mockups or Figma links, Notion's AI can infer component props, states, and suggested interaction patterns.
The tool auto-generates a component library page with usage examples, accessibility notes, and code snippets that integrate with major front-end frameworks. Updates to attached designs trigger suggested spec updates, enabling documentation to stay current with design changes.
Notion also added approval workflows and change tracking for AI-generated content, so teams can review, comment, and lock final versions. The feature is available as part of Notion's team plans with an optional enterprise add-on for SSO and data residency.
