Compose uses a conversation-style interface to help teams translate product goals into structured briefs, research summaries, and low-fidelity user journeys. The model supports citations to linked Notion pages and can surface relevant past decisions from workspace history to inform new briefs.

For designers, Compose offers templates for problem statements, success metrics, and accessibility checklists. The plugin can also generate initial user flows and a list of suggested components, which can be exported to design tools or converted into tasks for engineering.

Notion emphasizes workspace privacy and admin controls, including tenant-level model selection and audit logs that track Compose outputs and edits. The feature is available in beta for business customers and includes tooling for workspace administrators to manage content retention.
