Notion updates Blocks AI with contextual design suggestions and layout magic

Notion updated its Blocks AI to include design-aware suggestions that analyze content structure and propose responsive layouts, content grouping, and component blocks. When teams draft product specs, Blocks AI can suggest a design system mapping—turning a plain list into buttons, cards, and embedded mockups that match a team's template library.

The tool also automatically generates alt text and accessibility annotations for embedded images and proposes contrast fixes when it detects problematic color combinations. Designers can accept suggestions as-is or use them as a starting point for full-fledged prototypes.

Notion says the update reduces friction between product, design, and engineering by giving documents a more direct path to reusable UI artifacts. The feature is rolling out to Workspace-level AI subscribers with admin controls to manage template syncing.
