Novu.ai launches AI contrast auditor that suggests accessible token swaps in Figma and Storybook

Novu.ai's auditor scans design files and component stories, identifies potential contrast failures and proposes token-level fixes that preserve brand intent (hue, saturation, vibrancy) while meeting WCAG AA or AAA targets. The suggestions come with preview swatches, impact reports and the exact CSS or token JSON changes required to implement them.

Integration with Storybook allows the auditor to run in CI and open PRs with suggested token updates and visual diffs. It can also propose semantic fallbacks—for example, switching a visual-only emphasis color to a combination of color plus iconography or underline to avoid reliance on color alone.

While AI-driven suggestions speed up remediation, accessibility leads emphasize the importance of human review, especially for context-dependent decisions like decorative use and brand-critical palettes. Novu.ai says the tool is designed to reduce repetitive work, not replace audits or user testing with assistive technology.
