NVIDIA releases Omniverse Gen-2 SDK with AI-driven material authoring tools
Gaming · 6 min read
Omniverse Gen-2 SDK expands NVIDIA’s real-time collaboration platform with generative material tools that turn small photo sets into PBR-ready materials and fabric simulations. The AI authoring module analyzes texture samples and suggests tiling, seamless blending, and parameterized wear maps suitable for game engines.
The SDK also provides a procedural textile generator that models weave patterns and anisotropic reflections, enabling designers to iterate on cloth assets faster. Generated materials can be exported with engine-specific optimization profiles for Unreal and Unity.
For studios, NVIDIA emphasizes the reduction of manual retouching and the ability to produce high-fidelity assets from limited photography. The SDK will be available under NVIDIA’s developer program with sample datasets and dedicated plugin support for major DCC tools.
