Onyx Security raises $26M to build threat detection for design tooling and supply chains
Tech · 4 min read
Onyx Security introduced a scanning and monitoring product that examines design files, plugins, and component packages for security risks, leaked credentials, and IP mismatches. The system flags suspicious behavior like exfiltration patterns in plugins and unapproved external asset calls within design tools.
The $26 million round will help Onyx expand their threat intelligence data, build real-time monitoring agents, and integrate with corporate DLP and SIEM systems. The team notes increasing concerns as design platforms become more extensible and third-party plugins proliferate across organizations.
Enterprises testing Onyx reported catching misconfigured plugins and preventing accidental asset disclosure. Onyx plans to offer a compliance mode for regulated industries and a forensic toolkit to trace a compromised asset’s lineage back through design and engineering stages.
