OpenAI launches GPT-4o Studio with native design plugins and vector exports

OpenAI today announced GPT-4o Studio, a variant of its GPT-4o family optimized for design teams and creative tooling integrations. The release includes native plugins for Figma and Adobe Illustrator that enable designers to generate editable SVGs, layout suggestions, and component-level code directly from prompts.

Key features in GPT-4o Studio are live collaborative sessions where multiple designers can iteratively refine a generated asset while the model keeps track of change history and design tokens. The model also exposes a new 'vector export' API that outputs structured SVG/JSON representing layers, color profiles, and typographic metrics for immediate import into design systems.

OpenAI positions Studio as a bridge between ideation and production: companies can fine-tune the model on their brand tokens, import private UI libraries, and run inference locally with hosted private endpoints. Pricing and enterprise SLAs were announced alongside partnerships with major tooling vendors to accelerate adoption.
