OpenAI releases Voice-and-Visual UI Kit to help developers build accessible agent experiences

OpenAI's new Voice-and-Visual UI Kit bundles components, accessibility patterns, and UX guidance aimed at multimodal agent experiences. It includes prebuilt components for live captions, adjustable TTS rate controls, semantic landmarks, and conversational focus management that adapts for screen reader and keyboard users.
The kit also provides developer utilities that translate a conversation state into accessible ARIA-like semantics so assistive technologies can understand ephemeral, model-generated content. OpenAI emphasized careful handling of model updates to avoid accessibility regressions, recommending versioned components and test harnesses for assistive scenarios.
Early partners in the program reported faster certification cycles and fewer accessibility bugs in usability testing. OpenAI said the kit will be expanded to include regional language support and input accommodation patterns for people who rely on alternative hardware.
