OpenCanvas Studio Raises $18M Series A to Bring Generative Layouts to Product Design

OpenCanvas Studio’s generative engine ingests user stories, accessibility constraints, and brand tokens to produce multiple high-fidelity layout options that designers can iterate on. The Series A will expand the platform’s AI model suite and add collaboration features tailored to design ops teams.

The startup stresses human-in-the-loop workflows: designers maintain control over visual direction while the system automates layout permutations, spacing, and responsive behavior. Early customers report a significant cut in initial wireframing time and faster alignment with PMs and engineers.

OpenCanvas plans integrations with popular design tools and component libraries, plus a new API that enables product managers to programmatically generate prototypes directly from user-need matrices. The funding will also support hiring in ML research and enterprise sales.
