OpenSource Model Consortium releases OSMC-3: unified benchmark for creative models

OSMC-3 is a community-driven benchmark aimed at measuring how well generative models serve production creative workflows. It includes tasks such as layered SVG generation, repeatable pattern creation, localized inpainting with editable masks, and long-term style consistency across asset families.

Crucially, OSMC-3 evaluates editability by testing how much manual cleanup is required after generation, using metrics like node count, boolean simplicity, and layer semantic alignment. The suite also includes a cost model to estimate compute and engineering effort required to integrate a model into a typical design pipeline.

Several independent labs and small design tool vendors contributed reference implementations and baseline scores. OSMC hopes the benchmark will encourage model authors to optimize for asset usability, not just perceptual quality.
