DesignOps-AI, an open-source initiative backed by several agencies and tooling vendors, released a specification for prompt schemas and tokenized style packs. The schema defines how brand tokens, component metadata, and accessibility constraints are represented and passed to generative models.

By standardizing prompts and tokens, the project aims to make generative outputs more predictable across different LLMs and toolchains. The spec includes JSON schemas for brand kits, token versioning rules, and recommended prompt sanitization steps to reduce hallucinations.

Initial adopters include plugin authors for Figma and Sketch, and several in-house design teams are experimenting with the spec to improve cross-vendor reliability. The coalition plans to maintain the spec in a governance repo with community-driven updates.
