OptiFiber Closes $200M to Deploy Urban Micro-Trenching for Fiber-to-Home

OptiFiber’s micro-trenching technique uses automated cutters and robotic installers to lay fiber in narrow channels alongside sidewalks and utility corridors. The financing will expand their installation fleet and accelerate partnerships with municipalities and housing cooperatives.

The company promises faster permitting and lower restoration costs through standardized micro-trench modules and a coordinated utility-mapping service. OptiFiber also developed a repair-friendly conduit system that reduces future maintenance downtime.

Investors noted strong revenue visibility from municipal contracts and anchor tenant agreements. OptiFiber plans to pilot deployments in three major metro areas this year and is exploring battery-powered trenching units to reduce emissions on urban sites.
