Orbit Wheels raises $14M to ship modular controller hardware for cloud gaming

Orbit Wheels announced funding to bring a modular controller system to market that lets players swap modules like analog sticks, touchpads, extra macro buttons, and haptic units. Designed for cloud and mobile gaming, the controller connects via low-latency Bluetooth LE and USB-C and supports remappable profiles.

The $14 million round will support tooling for mass manufacturing, ergonomic studies, and partnerships with cloud gaming services. Orbit Wheels aims to address the need for accessible controllers that adapt to different player motor profiles and device form factors.

Developers and accessibility advocates welcomed the approach, noting that modular hardware can make gaming more inclusive. Orbit Wheels plans an SDK so games can detect attached modules and surface context-aware control schemes or tutorials.
