Orbital Robotics debuts 'Helper One' domestic robot and pockets $150M Series C

Helper One is a 1.4-meter bipedal platform with a 6-DOF dexterous arm, suction and fingertip grippers, and an array of sensors for room mapping. Key features include modular end-effectors, a privacy-first audio stack, and a safe-collision system certified to new domestic robot standards.
Orbital presented demos for routine chores like loading a dishwasher, folding towels, and object retrieval. The robot operates via scheduled routines and a conversational assistant; customers can also define custom 'house rules' for where and how the robot interacts with fragile objects.
The $150 million will expand manufacturing, establish a service network for maintenance, and fund further autonomy improvements. Early deployments will be limited to pilot homes and assisted living facilities, with retail availability projected for late 2027 after extended field trials.
