OrbitalPlay launches cross-platform game streaming SDK and raises $29M

OrbitalPlay launched a cross-platform game streaming SDK that aims to lower integration friction for developers who want to deliver instant-play demos and cloud-hosted game sessions. The SDK supports browser, mobile, and TV apps with adaptive bitrate and cloud input prediction.

The company also announced a $29 million funding round led by Benchmark to expand its edge footprint and build partnerships with CDN and cloud providers. OrbitalPlay emphasized optimizations for input latency, network jitter handling, and ARM-friendly server costs.

Initial pilots show promising reductions in average input lag for turn-based and casual multiplayer titles, and OrbitalPlay said it will extend support to VR streaming and AR passing soon.
