OrbitArcade raises $8M seed and opens beta for social VR arcade

OrbitArcade's platform blends small social spaces, micro-games, and persistent avatar customization aimed at lowering the onboarding friction to VR social experiences. The startup is positioning itself not as a full metaverse but as an accessible set of social activities that designers can quickly author.
The seed funding will expand content partnerships, build a lightweight web-embedded client, and improve cross-device compatibility — notably bringing non-VR users into mixed sessions with simplified controls. Makers Fund led the round alongside angel investors from the games industry.
OrbitArcade also introduced an in-platform content creation tool that enables designers to prototype game logic without deep engine knowledge. The company says it will offer revenue share to early creators and a program to help UX designers iterate on social mechanics using live telemetry.
