Orion Robotics raises $60M to ship 'Bolt' — a 1,200 RPM assembly-line co-robot

Bolt is designed to sit alongside human technicians on electronics lines, performing pick-and-place, solder inspection, and screwdriving at speeds up to 1,200 revolutions per minute for specific tooling attachments. Orion touts an advanced force-feedback system that prevents collisions and adapts motion profiles when a human enters shared workspace.

The $60 million Series B is led by IndustrialX and includes strategic investment from several contract manufacturers who plan to pilot Bolt across facilities in North America and Asia. Funding will increase manufacturing capacity, improve tooling ecosystems, and expand service networks.

Orion is offering Bolt through a hardware-as-a-service model that bundles installation, predictive maintenance, and software updates. Early pilots show up to 30% throughput gains and reduced repetitive strain injuries in partner factories.
