Palette Labs raises $7M and ships Hue: an AI tool for color systems and accessibility
Design · 3 min read
Palette Labs introduced Hue, a product that assists design teams in generating accessible, tokenized color systems aligned with brand guidelines. Hue uses perceptual color models and accessibility heuristics to propose palettes with WCAG-compliant contrast ratios, responsive token scales, and usage recommendations across themes.
The company raised $7 million in seed funding led by First Round, aiming to integrate Hue with design systems and popular style token managers. Palette Labs emphasized that the product is built for collaboration, allowing marketing and design to co-author palettes and visualize usage across real UI contexts.
Early design teams cite faster ramp-up for dark modes and better cross-platform color consistency. Palette Labs plans to add support for color-blindness simulations, print profiles, and localization-aware color variants.
