PaletteAI launches ColorSense, an AI color system for brand design, and raises $6.5M seed

ColorSense uses perceptual color models and accessibility constraints to produce palettes that maintain visual harmony across UI scales and contrast requirements. The system outputs CSS variables, Figma tokens, and platform-native color assets with automated contrast checks and suggested usage rules for components.

PaletteAI closed $6.5 million in seed funding led by Lumina Ventures, and the funds will go toward expanding the product into motion and texture systems, and building plugins for major design tools. The startup emphasized interoperability with existing design systems, not replacement, offering import tools for tokens and palette migration.

Early adopter customers report reduced design handoff friction and faster theme creation across teams. PaletteAI plans to add brand governance features, including approval workflows and a centralized style guide dashboard for enterprise customers.
