Photon Arcade raises $35M to build a cloud-native streaming platform and debuts 'Photon Play' SDK

Photon Arcade secured $35 million to expand its cloud-native game streaming platform and unveiled Photon Play, a streaming SDK optimized for low-latency multiplayer experiences. The platform uses regionally distributed edge nodes and adaptive codecs to deliver consistent frame rates for players on varying network conditions.
Photon Play includes developer tools for session orchestration, state synchronization, and SDKs for consoles, PC, and mobile. The company targets small studios that want to offer instant-play demos or live cross-platform co-op without building their own infrastructure.
For designers and game makers, Photon Play provides templates for input latency emulation and UI overlays that inform players about stream quality. The funding will scale global nodes and subsidize developer credits to onboard studios during the next year.
