Photoshop adds generative layers, smart templates, and design-to-code export

Generative layers allow designers to seed a region with a textual prompt and produce multiple composition options that remain editable as layers. Designers can swap variants, adjust style parameters, and blend outputs with existing imagery nondestructively.

Smart templates now bind layout logic and responsive rules to artboards. When designers swap content or change canvas sizes, Photoshop can reflow elements according to rules authored in the template, reducing repetitive resizing work for multi-platform assets.

On the handoff side, Adobe improved design-to-code export with component mapping for React and SwiftUI, including style-token extraction and a clearer mapping of Photoshop layer semantics to runtime components. The feature produces cleaner scaffolding for engineering handoff while preserving pixel fidelity.
