Photoshop web gains AI layout engine that exports componentized Figma files

The new layout engine detects reusable UI components, extracts design tokens, and produces a Figma-compatible file structure that preserves layer hierarchy, naming, and responsive constraints. Designers can review and accept component boundaries before export to ensure brand consistency.

Adobe promises fidelity while acknowledging differences in how Photoshop and Figma represent constraints. The export produces a companion JSON mapping of tokens and recommended dev-ready CSS variables or SwiftUI snippets.

Design teams welcomed the smoother handoff between pixel-based comps and vector-based prototyping. Adobe and Figma also announced a developer preview plugin that streamlines token synchronization between platforms.
