PixelForge launches modular laptop with swappable GPU blade
Tech · 6 min read
PixelForge today launched its first modular laptop, the ForgeBook, featuring a swappable GPU blade that docks into a dedicated bay beneath the hinge. The company says the design allows users to swap between an efficient mobile GPU for travel and a high-power desktop-class accelerator when connected to power.
Beyond hardware modularity, PixelForge includes a software utility that profiles creative apps and recommends optimal blade and power settings for tasks like real-time 3D rendering, compositing, and game builds. The chassis uses an innovative vapor-chamber cooling system to maintain sustained performance while keeping fan noise low.
The ForgeBook ships with a 16-inch 240Hz OLED display and a custom solder-free connector for the blade. PixelForge is launching preorders with an enterprise program offering bulk pricing and a lifecycle service where companies can return old blades for recycling when upgrading.
