PixelForge launches Prisma: a hardware-accelerated sketchpad for professional illustrators
Tech · 4 min read
Prisma is a specialized sketching tablet aimed at professional illustrators and concept artists. PixelForge’s hardware focuses on near-zero latency stroke rendering and high-fidelity pressure and tilt sensing, combined with an ASIC that accelerates complex brush algorithms.
The device ships with a companion OS that offers customizable brush engines, nondestructive layer compositing, and real-time collaboration over peer-to-peer links. PixelForge demonstrated Prisma rendering heavy particle and texture brushes at full frame rates without perceptible lag.
To bring Prisma to market, PixelForge closed a $10 million funding round led by Playground Global and followed by creative-industry investors. The capital will expand supply chains, fund certification for pen-and-touch drivers, and push firmware updates for stylus ergonomics.
Creative teams praised Prisma's tactile feel and the software's ability to export layered assets compatible with major creative suites. PixelForge will sell both consumer and enterprise bundles, including a multi-device studio license and white-glove support for creative shops.
