PixelForge raises $12M to develop generative textures for AAA games

PixelForge's generator produces physically based rendering (PBR) textures directly from reference images, artist sketches, or semantic prompts. The pipeline outputs normal maps, roughness maps, and tiling-compatible textures, with controls for stylization and performance budgets.

The $12 million Series A, led by GameFoundry, will expand support for engine integrations (Unity, Unreal), optimize LOD generation, and fund partnerships with middleware providers. PixelForge plans to add collaborative asset libraries and version control for art teams.

Early access studios report faster prototyping and lower iteration cost, though some artists emphasize the necessity of hand-touching outputs to match signature studio art directions. PixelForge positions its tooling as an augmentation to studio art teams rather than a replacement.
