PixelPlant raises $5M to launch a sustainable display material for flexible devices

The material uses a hybrid microLED‑organic stack that reduces power draw and allows high color accuracy on curved surfaces. PixelPlant says the manufacturing process can be retrofitted into existing fab lines and uses fewer scarce elements than traditional panels.

Investors include Breakout Ventures and an undisclosed Asian OEM. Funds will scale pilot production and certification for consumer safety and durability tests.

PixelPlant plans to partner with two wearable brands for limited runs in 2027 and will open an R&D collaboration program for device makers exploring flexible displays and sustainable supply chains.
