PlayForge closes $25M and unveils ArcadeKit for live-service indie game launches

PlayForge announced a $25M Series A led by Catalyst Ventures and launched ArcadeKit, a packaged backend and toolset for indie developers building live-service multiplayer games. ArcadeKit bundles scalable servers, matchmaking, tournaments, in-game storefronts, and dashboard analytics with minimal setup.

The goal is to reduce time-to-market: developers can publish a multiplayer title and enable competitive features, events, and monetization within weeks. PlayForge also introduced creator-focused features like revenue share plumbing, UGC moderation APIs, and prescriptive analytics for retention optimization.

Funding will be used to expand server regions, improve cheat detection algorithms, and subsidize cloud credits for early partners. The company said it's already working with five studios to pilot ArcadeKit on upcoming PC and mobile releases.
