PlayForge secures $40M to fund cross-platform AAA indie titles and dev tools

PlayForge announced a $40 million financing round aimed at expanding its development grants and rolling out a developer productivity suite for indie studios building cross-platform AAA-quality games. The company is positioning itself as a bridge between indie creativity and AAA production values.

The funding will seed a slate of five in-house titles and underwrite a new toolset: automated QA, cross-platform optimization scripts and a cloud build service that reduces iteration times for large teams. PlayForge says the tools will be free to partner studios.

Several small studios have already signed publishing deals, enticed by revenue-sharing terms and deep QA support. PlayForge is also launching an incubator program that will award development grants and mentorship to teams from underrepresented regions.
