Playforge secures $40M to launch an indie publishing platform with embedded live ops tools
Gaming · 4 min read
Playforge's platform bundles publishing services — from ad monetization to matchmaking and in-game events — into a self-serve dashboard aimed at independent developers. The company claims the platform reduces the friction of scaling multiplayer titles and automating live events.
The $40 million round was led by Pioneer Equity and will be used to scale infrastructure for live events, expand UA partnerships, and integrate first-party telemetry exporters with major engines like Unity and Unreal. Playforge plans to launch a preferred partner program for indies seeking revenue sharing and co-marketing support.
Notable features include in-dashboard experimentation tools, rollback controls for events, and modularity so studios can pick only the services they need. Several early-access titles reported improved retention after adopting Playforge's targeted live-event templates.
