PlayForge closed a $60 million Series B led by Nebula Ventures and Galaxy Interactive, aiming to accelerate adoption of its cloud-native engine and backend-as-a-service platform. The company said the funding will expand server infrastructure, developer tooling, and a new analytics layer for game ops teams.
The PlayForge engine is pitched as a hybrid solution: client rendering remains flexible while the engine manages cross-session state, live events, and player economies via managed microservices. Developers can deploy matches in multiple regions with autoscaling and rollback capabilities.
PlayForge also unveiled a new visual scripting interface tailored for designers and non-programmers, plus a marketplace for modular live-event templates. Early access partners include mid-size studios using the engine for seasonal content and cross-platform competitions.
