PlayStation partners with AI studio to develop artist-focused level-prototyping models

The collaboration aims to give level designers fast, iterative tools that translate mood boards and sketches into playable blockouts. Models will output environment geometry suggestions, suggested asset lists, and pacing markers that align with intended player experience.
PlayStation emphasized artist oversight: outputs are suggestions rather than finished assets, with tooling meant to slot into existing DCC workflows. The partnership includes plugins for mainstream engines and a private dataset contributed by participating studios to improve domain relevance.
Sony plans to pilot the tools internally before offering licensing or integration options to third parties. The studio said the focus on artist empowerment and workflow fidelity differentiates their approach from fully automated asset generation pipelines.
