PlayStation tools pilot AI layout assistant for in-game store UIs

Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed an internal AI assistant prototype that designs in-game store layouts and promotional carousels. The assistant takes goals—promote a new DLC, highlight discounts—and produces tuned layouts that balance discoverability and purchase friction based on historical UX A/B test data.
The assistant integrates with PlayStation's commerce analytics to simulate likely click-through rates and suggests placements that minimize accidental purchases. Generated layouts are exported as prefabs to the internal UI pipeline and tested against holdout traffic before deployment.
Sony stressed that the tool is for designers and product managers; human review and ethical guidelines govern promotional placements. Studio teams reported faster iteration on store experiments and clearer hypotheses for monetization A/B tests.
