Polychrome Labs raises $16M seed to build color-accessibility AI for product teams

Polychrome Labs announced a $16 million seed raise to build an AI assistant focused on color accessibility and systematization. The tool analyzes brand palettes and proposes accessible alternatives, providing token maps that preserve aesthetic intent while meeting WCAG guidelines.

Polychrome embeds as a plugin in design tools and as a pre-commit check in CI, alerting teams to contrast regressions or token drift. It also offers batch updates for themes and an audit trail showing visual differences pre- and post-adjustment.

Investors cited an acceleration in accessibility-conscious procurement and the long tail of legacy UI code as reasons for market demand. Polychrome says it will expand dataset diversity and add AI explainability features so designers can understand why a color shift was recommended.
