Premiere Pro adds Auto-Cut powered by scene LLMs to speed up rough edits

Auto-Cut leverages scene LLMs to analyze footage, detect scene boundaries, and propose edit points based on pacing, audio cues, and transcript sentiment. Editors can accept suggested cuts, adjust timing, and batch-export highlight reels or social-sized clips.
The feature integrates with Premiere's transcript and markers pipeline, allowing natural language prompts like 'create a 60-second highlight focusing on product reactions.' Auto-Cut also exposes confidence scores so editors can focus review on lower-confidence decisions.
Adobe implemented GPU-accelerated inference for on-prem workflows and cloud processing for large-scale jobs. The company advised editors to treat Auto-Cut as a starting point rather than a full substitute for editorial judgment.
