QuantumForge raises $80M to build cloud-native MMO engine and opens beta

QuantumForge’s engine uses a microshard architecture to distribute authoritative simulation across cloud nodes, enabling continuous world persistence and near-infinite instance scaling. Developers can run mixed-authority regions—some player-hosted, some cloud-hosted—with seamless migration of object state.

The $80 million round was led by Titan Games and includes strategic cloud partners providing credits and low-latency networking. QuantumForge will use funds to grow its team, open regional hubs for latency-sensitive gameplay, and add production-grade world-authoring tools.

Studios in the closed beta praised the engine’s deterministic rollback for combat and economic simulations while noting the learning curve for designing around microshards. QuantumForge plans public SDK releases later this year and a marketplace for persistent-world modules.
