QuantumLink debuts Q-Guard, the first consumer quantum-resistant router, secures $30M to commercialize
Tech · 4 min read
Q-Guard implements post-quantum key exchange algorithms alongside traditional TLS stacks and includes automatic firmware updates that apply cryptographic agility across connected devices. QuantumLink prioritized compatibility: the router supports standard Wi‑Fi and wired protocols while selectively applying PQC to sessions where both endpoints are compatible.
The $30 million investment will scale manufacturing, expand retail distribution, and fund partnerships with ISPs for co-branded gateway deployments. QuantumLink also plans to certify the router against evolving PQC standards and to provide firmware rollouts that adapt as standards mature.
QuantumLink acknowledged that most consumer traffic today doesn't require PQC, but the company argues early adoption simplifies the transition once quantum-capable attackers or infrastructure emerge. The router ships with a companion app for network insights and prioritized updates for connected IoT devices.
