QuantumOptix raises $50M to debut mixed-reality dev kit for industrial design

QuantumOptix announced $50 million in Series B funding and launched QO Studio, a mixed-reality development kit aimed at speeding iteration in industrial design. The system combines spatial sketching tools, real-time PBR rendering, and integrated version control to support multidisciplinary teams.

QO Studio supports multi-user sessions where ergonomics data, material shaders, and assembly constraints are shared. It also exports to CAD and downstream PLM systems, allowing a smoother handoff from concept to engineering.

The new capital will expand enterprise integrations, build training programs with design consultancies, and scale hardware production. Early pilots in automotive show conceptual cycle times reduced by as much as 40% compared to traditional workflows.
