QuantumPixel Announces 'QLight' Shader Suite and Raises $65M to Target AAA Visuals in Real-Time

QuantumPixel closed a $65 million growth round led by BrightForge Capital to commercialize QLight, a suite of optimized shaders, global illumination techniques, and artist-friendly authoring tools. The tech focuses on performance parity across PC and consoles.
QLight includes a node-based authoring environment, material libraries, and an adaptive renderer that scales quality based on device GPU and target frame rate. Artist workflows emphasize iterative previews and nondestructive layering.
Mid-size studios testing QLight reported visible improvements in scene realism with manageable performance budgets. QuantumPixel is offering both standalone licensing and engine-specific plugins that preserve material graphs when exported.
Funding will support expanding compatibility with engines, developing cloud baking services for complex scenes, and investing in partnerships with middleware lighting tools. Investors pointed to a gap in accessible, high-quality real-time lighting solutions for non-AAA teams.
