The UX is designed around triage: reports, automod queues, and mod actions are laid out in an order that mirrors the moderator decision process.

Transparency features like public removal reasons and detailed mod logs help reduce confusion between moderators and users. Reddit also added batch actions and templated messages for high-volume tasks. However, the balance between empowering moderators and enforcing platform policy remains delicate; UX choices reveal tradeoffs between speed and nuance.

For designers working on community platforms, the lesson is to create moderator workflows that mirror human decision patterns, support automation with reviewability, and make policy enforcement legible to both moderators and users.
